Meet Attorney Burnham

Welcome! I have been presenting and explaining estate planning concepts to assist people in planning for the future of their families since the turn of the century. When asked why I chose to practice law, I like to tell the story about how my mother told me, when I was young, that I should be a doctor or a lawyer. Growing up with Perry Mason and Law and Order set my course. Talking to people to uncover their goals for their money and property, and working to create the tools to implement those strategies during their lives and in the event of their passing, is my passion.

As a member of the New Hampshire Bar, I have spent 16+ years on the Ethics Committee. The New Hampshire Bar Association’s Ethics Committee is dedicated to providing guidance to members of the New Hampshire Bar and Judiciary on issues and questions related to the Rules of Professional Conduct. These Rules are what all licensed attorneys must follow in order to remain licensed to practice law in the state of New Hampshire. I have had the privilege and honor of serving as Chair of that Committee since 2020.

I also serve as faculty for continuing legal education seminars for the New Hampshire Bar Association, National Business Institute, and CATIC, lecturing fellow attorneys on areas of estate planning, elder law, probate and trust administration, and ethics topics. Most recently, I have been presenting Drafting Effective Wills and Trusts, New Hampshire Estate Administration from Start to Finish, and the Annual Ethics CLE. On March 10, 2017, I received the “Distinguished Pro Bono Service” award from the New Hampshire Bar Association Pro Bono Program.

I grew up in New Hampshire and cannot imagine having my children grow up anywhere else. I love to read, which certainly assists in my line of work, but I also like boating and cars. I love spending time with my family in the lakes region, and Lake Winnipesaukee is my favorite place to unwind. My husband introduced me to Martial Arts, I became a student and then a teacher of this art over the course of the last several years. When I am not working with my clients, I am passing on the skills of martial arts to fellow students.

I look forward to exploring your goals, it would be my pleasure to assist you and your family with your legal matters!
